Making clear egg packages from PET Bottles. Ovotherm has launched a new recycling project.
From PET Bottles to EGG Cartons

Ovotherm has launched a "PET" project for environmental and economic reasons. Plastic drink bottles are being collected, processed and cut into flakes for re-use. Ovotherm has teamed up with an Austrian recycling operation to make glass-clear egg packs directly where the bottles are re-ground. The R-PET (recycled PET) project is situated in the southern part of Austria. The used egg packs can be collected and recycled like bottles again and again. The investment of 2,5 million €uro is justified  because of an increasing number of plastic bottles being introduced into the market, there is a need to recycle. R-PET packs are supplied to Billa (the largest supermarket chain in Austria) and to leading and environmentally conscious retailers worldwide. The R-PET project reduces waste and the glassclear egg packs are food approved by governmental institutions like FDA and health ministries . Now egg packs for 2x6 and 12 eggs are in stock and ready for delivery.
