Some examples out of our Marketing Concepts Variety:
Piccolinos - A Concept for Small Eggs
The Spanish egg producer Avicola Garrido Garcia created a special concept to market small eggs - "Huevos Piccolinos". This concept involves children - and not only in the funny, colourful label on top of an Ovotherm Showcase 1x15! Small eggs have a stronger shell and contain more vitamins and minerals, which are essential for the growth of teeth, bones and muscles as well as for the immune system - not only for kids! On the back of the label a lot of information is given: Not only nutritional facts, but also explanation about eggs as a natural product, easily understandable for kids. And not to forget: Kids who eat breakfast perform better in school!
"Farmers" Super Jumbo Cage Free Eggs Concept
"Farmers" is the brand name of companies which produce and market agricultural products, based in Kalona, Iowa, the large Amish/Mennonite settlement are owned and operated by local Amish/Mennonite families. Their connection to nature is shown by producing these up to 84g double yolk eggs only from free range chicken. This premium product will be promoted regionally in Ovotherm's Jumbotherm 1x10 and the colourful label indicates the lifestyle of "Amish/Mennonite" families.
The "Hearty Egg" Concept
For the first time Friday's Ltd of Cranbrook in Kent/UK have launched the ‘Hearty Egg', available from carefully regulated caged hens and from free range hens enjoying the privacy of secluded laying nests.
The Hearty Egg concept brings together Ovotherm's clear 100% post-consumer recycled PET cartons and eggs specially enriched with Natural Omega-3 DHA, Folic Acid and Vitamin E for the UK retail market. Hearty Eggs are marketed and sold in a delightful and striking presentation optimising the area around the glass clear egg pack with a wrap-around sleeve. To further reinforce the major benefit of the concept - being good for your heart, cut-outs in the shape of a heart have been incorporated into the sleeve design.
Scientifically researched information is found on the packaging about the extra nutrients and ‘healthier choice' easily informing and educating the consumer.
The "Free Range Eggs" Concept in Cyprus
Petrides Savvas is the first egg producer in Cyprus who just started marketing his Free Range Eggs. He feeds his hens with a special Alfalfa grass. He grows this feed on his farm and says that the grass has to be replaced only every five years. One of the major advantages is the big amount of protein and carotenoids which gives the egg yolk a rich, golden colour - that is why they are called "Golden Eggs". His marketing concept includes packing the eggs in Ovotherm's Starpack for seven eggs, where consumers can not only see the eggs but also a leporello leaflet containing a lot of information about these Free Range Eggs.
The "Veggetarian Egg" Concept
The Mexican egg producer Mama Gallina started marketing a vegetarian egg, produced by hens which are fed only with cereals. But not only this - these eggs contain vitamin A, E, B2, B12, D3, Choline and Folic Acid, all the "goodies" which are essential for your health, there is even more - natural antioxidants and lutein and zeaxanthin (which are especially good for your eyes) are added. These healthy eggs are presented in a glassclear Ovotherm pack for 12 eggs, decorated with an eye catching label, where not only the characteristics and benefits of these eggs but also nutritional information is printed on the back label.
The "Local Egg" Concept
"... Thank you for buying 6 eggs produced in our region. By buying eggs produced locally you assist the local agriculture." This new concept from Spar Switzerland backs up regional small companies - from the region for the region. Similar projects for other parts of Switzerland are planned. On the back of the colourful label you can find indications concerning the environment: "This egg pack was produced 100% of collected and recycled PET-bottles."
The "Christmas Egg" Concept
Cocoroco is a Mexican egg producer who uses the "Christmas Egg Concept" to sell more eggs in this season. The quantity per pack is quite big - he uses Ovotherm's glassclear Showcase for 18 eggs as well as Supersell 1x12. And - of course - the label shows a Christmas motive - a chicken dressed as Santa Claus - and attracts kids as well as grown ups!
Cross Merchandising Concept On-Pack
One of Puerto Rico's supermarket chains created "Econo" as their private label. One of the Econo products are fresh locally produced eggs, packed in a glassclear Ovotherm Supersell for 12 eggs. The label shows the mouthwatering picture of an omelette and on the back of the label the recipe can be found. Specific added value: All the ingredients are Econo private label products like the eggs! Salad, peppers, tomatoes, cheese and much more.
Cross Merchandising
Special cross merchandising concepts between eggs and other food products like vegetables for omelettes or breakfast items have proven to increase sales in total. For example in Thailand: S.W. Foodtech have introduced their "Egg House" with a second egg display and an omelette cooking/ tasting opportunity for consumers.
