Heedegard is one of the two biggest and most succesful egg producers in Denmark.
They started in 2008 to use Ovotherm's crystalclear egg packs for their brand "Danske Buræg". White large eggs are packed in Traypack 1x20 and Traypack 1x30 is used for the medium sized eggs. The reason why Heedegard likes these packs so much is clear: They are made of recycled PET drinks bottles, the presentation is eyecatching and there is no need to use outer packaging. Also the cost for logistics is less, because there are more packs per pallett and they run extremely well on the automatic packing machines. The company is very marketing orientated and HACCP certified.
Most of the eggs are sold to the Dansk Supermarked Group, where costumers are not only happy because they don't have to open the packs to inspect the eggs, but also because they can be sure that depite the weight of the purchased 20 or 30 eggs they will arrive at their home safely!
