In United States Supermarkets eggs are slowly getting what they deserve:
A more innovative, diversified, prominent and consumer orientated display for the actually most profitable food product in retail sales according to studies of the American Egg Board.

To distinguish a commodity type egg from a value added one, more sophisticated packaging is being used for specialties like: non cage/ free range eggs, Omega 3 eggs, Selenium, "Vitamin E" and "D" enhanced eggs and eggs where chickens are being fed a strict grain diet.
