Expoaviga Fair in Barcelona
From 17th of October until 20th of October the Expoaviga Fair took place in Barcelona/ Spain where producers, traders and also consumers within the poultry industry were present. This year, for the first time,  the fair took place in Feria Gran Via due to the big increase of exhibitors which also asked for bigger stands. During these four days the show was visited by people from five continents. Exhibitors as well as visitors were very happy not only with the displays but also with their business success – this was also a first, because in former times the show was not so well frequented and nearly no business was concluded.
Ovotherm had a very nicely decorated booth, which interested a lot of international visitors all the time. The new and innovative products of Ovotherm brought a lot of new and promising contacts with egg producers and supermarket managers were made.
In 2008 the Expoaviga Fair will take place in spring instead of fall.

Ovotherm at „Zolotaja Osen“
For the first time Ovotherm was present at the exhibition Zolotaja Osen in Moscow. This show is for agricultural products and also most of Russia’s egg producers are present. The Ovotherm booth was nicely decorated and frequented by a lot of interested visitors all the time. Mrs. Natalia Korobok was very busy presenting the glassclear egg packs and explaining the advantages of showing eggs instead of hiding them. Not all visitors had heard of Ovotherm before, but all of them left the booth with lots of information and several samples.
Some of the Russian egg producers already use clear egg packs from Ovotherm. For example the company Vologda presented their eggs packed in crystal clear egg packs from Ovotherm at the show. Another egg producer – Sejmovskajaboils and colours eggs at Easter and prefers Ovotherm‘s Starpack to show them.
The show was a big success with lots of new and promising contacts with future costumers – even if only 3 days were not enough to talk to all of them.

Sexy Eggs
The supermarket chain Spar introduced a product which is new on the Austrian market. The Vital Egg contains 8 times more Omega 3, which assists to provide a balanced cholesterol level and contributes to cell protection. In addition this egg contains 4 times more Vitamin E, which is known for its many advantages as well as being a traditional aphrodisiac. The barn hens are fed only with natural, vegetarian food. This healthy egg is presented in a glass clear and environmentally friendly Ovotherm Supersell 2x6, produced from 100% recycled plastic. This egg pack is “sealed” by a sleeve, where consumers find a lot of important information and nutritional facts concerning the “Vital Egg Omega 3 plus”.

IEC Conference in Guadalajara
This year Mexico was the host for more than 400 delegates coming from 40 different nations. Mr. Cesar de Anda and his team did a wonderful job to make everybody feel very welcome and safe as well. IEC chairman and Ovotherm senior partner Willi Kallhammer was very happy with the success of the conference and the amount of important information several renowned speakers shared with the delegates. The World Poultry Forum took place at the same time and was the perfect addition. Ovotherm CEO Mr. Franz Hofer (he presented Austria) and his team were very busy talking with existing costumers and friends, but a lot of new contacts with visitors from Latin America and the USA were established as well. The main interest was in Ovotherm’s big range of clear egg packs made from 100% recycled material.

World Egg Day in Austria
World-Egg-Day in Austria was celebrated mainly in Vienna this year. During the week two famous cooks prepared exquisite egg dishes in prime time television broadcasts and a 40 minutes spot explaining the merits of eggs and also World-Egg-Day was aired.
Two boiled and coloured eggs with salt and pepper, packed in a glassclear “Twopack” decorated and sealed with a colourful label, were offered to consumers in Austria’s largest bakery chain. A small leaflet in the same design as the label, answers 6 important questions about eggs, for example: “How long can you keep boiled eggs?” and includes 2 very interesting egg recipes.
On Friday October 13th , World-Egg-Day itself, the highlight - after a well attended press conference - was the official launch of the new Austrian-Egg-Balloon “Ei – mal - täglich” which translates into “An Egg a Day is OK”.
The colourful balloon will be seen all over Austria in the months to come reminding people how healthy eggs are.

Golden Egg Award for Venezuela
Every year the IEC (International Egg Commission) honours the efforts of the country with the best concepts and results in egg marketing. This year, at the IEC conference in Guadalajara/ Mexico, it was truly a sensation for the Latinamerican egg industry: The Golden Egg Award was presented by Mrs Joanne Ivy (Chairman of the IEC Marketing Committee) together with IEC Chairman Willi Kallhammer to Venezuela. After the dedicated and enthusiastic presentation of successful egg marketing by Mr. Nagib M. Budejen president of Inpro Huevos (the association of egg producers in Venezuela), the committee decided that Venezuela and this concept deserves the prestigious award.
For Ovotherm it is an honour to be the top supplier of clear, honest egg packaging to Venezuela's leading and creative producers Ovomar and La Caridad.

Clear Egg Packs in Guyana, South America
It started in Atlanta at the IPE 2006, when Mr. Saed Edun visited the Ovotherm booth. He was so convinced of the advantages of Ovotherms clear egg packaging, that only eight month later Edun Farms delivered their eggs for the first time packed in glass clear egg cartons. Edun Farms, a family business, is the largest egg producer in Guyana and the third largest in Caricom. Their premium quality eggs are now packed in the “honest” Ovotherm egg packs for 6, 12 and 15 eggs, decorated with a very colourful and eyecatching label. Supersell 1x12 is the most popular pack. The brand name is “Edun Farms” and the products are sold to all major supermarkets in Guyana, including Nigel’s, W.M. Fogarty’s, Bonny’s and in all Bounty Meat Centers.
