Ovotherm held their Grand Event at Ovopet on Friday 29th August 2003, based in Southern Austria Ovopet is the manufacturing site dedicated to producing glass-clear egg packaging from 100% post consumer recycled PET bottles. Ovotherm’s recycled PET egg packaging is considered to be a service to the environment as it is 100% recyclable. The event marked the R-PET egg packaging being presented by Franz Hofer (General Manager Ovotherm) to the management of Billa – the largest supermarket chain in Austria, the Supersell 1x12 is now in-store. R-PET packs will also be supplied to Wal-Mart and Carrefour. Amongst the 100 guests were Josef Pröll,  Austria’s Federal  Minister for Agriculture and Environment and the seniors of the Carinthia Government. Guest speaker Minister Pröll endorsed the R-PET project saying that it reduces waste and is recyclable again and again. The theme of the buffet was of course ‘all about eggs’,  the event was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Im Kärntner Recycling-Unternehmen OVOPET in Völkermarkt nahmen BILLA-Umweltbeauftragter DI Alfred Matousek und Obst- und Gemüseeinkaufsleiter Direktor Alfred Propst am Freitag, dem 29. August 2003, die erste Ovotherm Eier-Verpackung aus recyclierten PET-Flaschen entgegen.
