Telavang Group of Companies, established in 1977 by its owner Mehdi Masoumi, is the largest private production group within the poultry and feed industry of Iran. The group consists of 15 independent companies with over 950 employees and business premises including production saloons, raw materials stores, administration buildings and research laboratories.

The annual Production and Marketing Conference of the International Egg Commission (IEC) was held in Washington this year. A record attendance of over 450 delegates from nearly 40 countries showed the steadily increasing recognition of this unique organisation solely dedicated to eggs.

At the recent International Egg Commission Conference held in Washington the top global egg Award went to the small Caribbean island nation of Barbados.

The main themes the more than 400 delegates from 40 countries were confronted with were sustainability, animal welfare, feeding the world and markets of the future.

Consumer demands and how the egg industry can or will react in the light of animal welfare laws and a quickly changing competitive environment where eggs have to fight for the right position in the food sector of retail.

"Amshoff" is a big packingstation in the north-west of Germany. They control, inspect, grade and pack the eggs from different regional egg producers.

Two big egg producers/ packingstations in Sweden have decided to give their eggs a new appearance. Both of them are now using clear egg packs from Ovotherm to present the white and washed eggs from Free Range chickens in a very hygienic way.

May 18th 2010 was a very important day for all the egg lovers on the beautiful island of Mauritius! Mr. Willi Kallhammer, Honorable President of the IEC (International Egg Commission), together with Ceres Ltd. (producer of the most popular egg brand "Ouedor") invited members of the new Government, Doctors, Nutritionists and the Media to an Egg-Forum. Mr. Kallhammer's presentation about the goodness of eggs and their advantages was very well received by an interested audience of about 60 ladies and gentlemen. Several articles in the local press reported about this event and it was broadcasted on TV on 3 different Channels.

The island nation of Singapore is a true success story. After its independance from Britain in the sixties, its 2,5 Mio people concentrated on intelligent production and trading gradually becoming one of the so called "tiger states". Meanwhile with over 5 Mio people (including residents and guest workers), it is the business and financial center in South East Asia.

Quaileggs are getting more and more popular. This year the Atlanta Poultry Show took place from January 27 until January 29. As every second year it was a "smaller" event with only about 60% of the usual exhibitors. But- never the less- it was a huge success for Mr. Franz Hofer, CEO of Ovotherm International, and his team - Mr. Walter Baumann, Mr. Octavio Gomez and Mrs. Petra Küblböck.
